Grupo Iochpe and the agricultural industry

Did you know…

… in 1978, when it acquired Máquinas Agrícolas Ideal, the Iochpe Group began operating in the agricultural industrial segment, producing tractors, combine harvesters and farm machinery. In 1983, the Group consolidated its presence in this sector by buying Massey Ferguson, a traditional Canadian manufacturer. In 1996, after a major sector-wide crisis, Iochpe-Maxion decided to sell its agricultural interests—bought by the North-American group AGCO—and focus on the automotive sector instead.
